Jersey Mike’s and Subway Just Got Some Serious Competition

Sandwiches are a very personal thing. Even what you call them—be it subs, hoagies, heroes, wedges, or grinders—comes down to personal choice (and often, where you’re from). At the end of the day, everyone believes their preferred combination of bread, meat, cheese, veggies, spreads, and spices is the best. And they’re not wrong. But discovering your perfect sandwich can take some (delicious) research.

Luckily, sandwich shops like Jimmy John’s, Potbelly, and Subway create signature sandwiches to help make discovering your ideal combo *that* much easier. How would you know that you love spicy peppers on a sub if you never tried a Spicy East Coast Italian at Jimmy John’s? Now, Blimpie has a new signature sandwich that’s angling to become your new favorite, and it’s one you need to try if you like to keep things spicy.

Blimpie Introduces a New Zesty Grinder

When we first saw what’s in the new Blimpie Zesty Grinder, it reminded us of the Ultimate B.M.T. from Subway, but with a little spicy Jersey Mie’s flair.

Like the Ultimate B.M.T., the Blimpie Zesty Grinder is loaded with salami and pepperoni, but swaps sliced turkey for Black Forest Ham. The Zesty Grinder also features provolone, tomato, onion, banana peppers, and Blimpie’s signature grinder salad, all piled high on Parmesan bread. For a kick, it’s served with a side of spicy giardiniera that’s reminiscent of the “life-changing” cherry pepper relish that has quickly become a must-have on all our Jersey Mike’s orders.

Available for a limited time at all Blimpie locations, the Zesty Grinder will stick around all summer and into the fall, leaving menus on October 6. That gives you plenty of time to give it a try, figure out if you like it as-is, or if you want to customize your Zesty Grinder. However you order it, it’s bound to be delicious.
